Winning the BBC North West Tonight Christmas Star Award was such an emotional and proud moment for all of us at Lumiere 💜✨

What made it even more special was knowing that families and parents from our community had taken the time to nominate and put us forward for the recognition themselves. To know the people who use Lumiere felt that strongly about the impact it has had on their lives meant more than any award ever could.

To receive such a huge recognition after being open for just 8 months was something we never imagined. It showed just how needed spaces like Lumiere are for children with disabilities, complex needs, siblings and their families.

The award recognised not only the centre itself, but the love, lived experience and dedication behind everything we do each day to ensure families feel seen, supported and never alone 🌟
